Our son has struggled with AD/HD and learning difficulties all of his life. The patience, understanding and quiet continuity of Andrew Grossman’s tutoring style has been a major contributing factor to our son’s success ion his senior year of high school. I’m not sure how we would have gotten through this year without him.

When my son was in 6th grade, I became concerned that he wasn’t being challenged in a few ways at school, especially with respect to reading and writing. I found Mr. Grossman through a friend and was delighted that he created an engaging and “boy friendly” enrichment “class” in my home which kept my son moving forward for three years. The list of novels that they read and discussed is impressive. Mr Grossman delved into advanced themes which connected several of the novels. I am so grateful for the way Mr Grossman creatively selected a series of books which my son enjoyed very much. We continued our weekly meetings for most weeks during the summers and this was a fabulous way to boost summer reading skills. The time spent with Mr Grossman greatly enhanced my son’s reading comprehension skills as well as his vocabulary and writing skills. My son, now in high school , was a kid whose math skills were already strong, but I’m pleased that he also does so well in his humanities classes with test scores commensurate with his math scores.

We are grateful for all the help you provided in developing our daughter’s critical thinking and writing skills. Sadly, this seems to be a diminishing focus in our test-oriented school system, but we feel fortunate that you intervened at just the right moment for all of our kids. We are forever grateful for this.

Robert Grossman tutored our daughter for the ACT at the end of her junior year and the beginning of her senior year. Our daughter had good grades but was not as successful at taking the standardized tests. With his tutoring and guidance, our daughter’s ACT score improved from a 22 to a 28, which greatly expanded her choices for college applications. She received yearly scholarships of $20,000 to Drew, $18,000 to Rollins, and $11,000 to Saint Mary’s. She will happily be attending the College of Charleston in the Fall. We were very pleased with Robert Grossman’s ability to spot the academic weaknesses kin our daughter, to fill in those gaps, and to give her the skills and confidence to get a solid score on the ACT.

We hired Mr. Grossman to help us move through the daunting college preparation process. He not only helped my daughter achieve competitive SAT scores (raised her score over 300+ points), but helped us prepare a list of schools and provided recommendations based on her academic and personal interests. As busy working parents, Robert allowed us to keep doing what we do while providing excellent guidance at every stage of the process. He was willing to teach us to handle the stress and talk us off the ledge when necessary. My daughter is now attending her top choice and we could not be more thrilled.

What I didn’t calculate, though, was what a personal impact Robert had our daughter as we moved through the process. He inspired her to be confident and truly follow in the direction of her dreams. As a very good but not top student, our daughter was concerned she wouldn’t be competitive enough for college. By providing her with top notch test taking and essay skills as well as just having conversations about life, college and her dreams, Robert helped her see that she was indeed a bright capable student with an even brighter future. It was worth every penny.

Our family hired Robert Grossman six years ago, when my oldest daughter Michelle was a junior and had recently transferred to Mclean High. We realized that she needed help with German, as her old school’s curriculum was not as advanced in the subject as her new school. We hired Robert on Mclean High’s recommendation. He was excellent in helping Michelle catch up with her classmates. We then discovered that Robert could help her study for the SAT and ACT exams. He was excellent once more. He also advised on which colleges would be good for Michelle. Michelle is now a senior at Emory and is/has been on the Dean’s List. Michelle gives a lot of credit to Robert for all his help.

We then hired Robert to help our second daughter, Lauren, to study for the ACT and SAT exams. He also advised her on her college search. In an act of overkill, I also sent her to a group SAT/ACT prep class that was nearby. Lauren said that Robert was immeasurable help, while the group tutoring sessions were a waste of her time. Lauren received a large scholarship to attend the University of Miami and is currently a freshman there, intending to major in Biomedical engineering.

Robert was always professional, always showed up as scheduled, and had a wonderful rapport with me and my girls. I would highly recommend him to anyone.

“I cannot say enough for the one on one work with our son that Robert provided. I’ve never seen our son work harder for his goals.”
